Jeffrey Yin is Artsy’s new Chief Executive Officer

Artsy has announced that Jeffrey Yin is the Company’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1st, 2024.

Yin currently serves as Artsy’s Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel, having joined the company in 2019. Artsy’s current CEO Mike Steib will remain in an advisory role through July before beginning his new role as Chief Executive Officer of TEGNA Inc., a Fortune 1000 media company serving local communities through impactful journalism and innovative marketing solutions. Steib will continue to serve on the board of Artsy following his departure.

The board and I are thrilled to have Jeffrey step up to lead Artsy. We’re building on a strong foundation that Mike and the team have laid with their enormous contributions to the business and our partners’ success. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jeff since 2019 and have been so impressed by his steep growth path, his deep knowledge and passion for the art world, and the fresh vision he’s bringing to our next chapter. I’m incredibly excited to be working with him on our mission of expanding the art market to support more artists and art in the world. I also want to thank Mike for the transformative impact he has had on the business over the last five years.

Discussing Artsy’s new CEO, Founder and Executive Chairman Carter Cleveland

During Yin’s tenure at Artsy, he has been responsible for strategy and operations across the business as well as capital formation and investor relations. He has worked closely with Steib to drive significant revenue growth and cost discipline to build a sustainable business that supports over 4,000 galleries, auction houses, art fairs, and institutions in over 100 countries. Yin has overseen the expansion of the company’s transaction capabilities into multiple key global markets and has helped its business and product leaders increase the value the company drives to its partners and the art ecosystem globally.

It is an honour to take on the role of Chief Executive for Artsy at such a crucial moment for the art industry. I have dedicated my career to supporting businesses like our gallery partners, in their pursuit of growth and success. I feel privileged to work every day to help increase our partners’ visibility, grow their artists’ reach, and introduce them to new collectors. I look forward to expanding on the great work the exceptional Artsy team has done over the past five years to transform how collectors around the world
discover and purchase art. As a collector myself, I am deeply committed to our vision to create a more welcoming and transparent industry, and I could not be more excited to continue Artsy’s mission to expand the art market and further democratize the art world.

It has been an honour to work alongside Mike both at Artsy, and prior, and I’m thrilled for his move to a company whose mission, like Artsy’s, is near and dear to his heart.
