Pearl Pictures Productions has announced the release of its debut feature film, THE HOST, will be released on demand from 17th April on iTunes, Amazon Video, Google Play, Apple TV and all major VoD platforms.
THE HOST is a Zachary Weckstein Production and stars Emmy Award-winning Maryam Hassouni, up-and-coming Mike Beckingham (brother of Simon Pegg), first major role from McFly pop rock musician Dougie Poynter, Nigel Barber (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Spectre (007), Togo Igawa (Star Wars: The Last Jedi / Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, The Last Samurai), veteran actors Derek Jacobi (Gladiator, Murder on the Orient Express, Gosford Park, I, Claudius (TV series) and Jeroen Krabbé (The Fugitive, The Living Daylights, Transporter 3), Dominic Keating (Star Trek: Enterprise, Beowulf, Prison Break), Margo Stilley (The Trip, How to Lose Friends & Alienate People, 9 Songs) and Ruby Turner MBE (Love Actually, Hotel Babylon and acclaimed singer).
The film’s cinematographer is Oona Menges, known for her work on Dirty Pretty Things, The Good Thief, Love Is the Devil, The Woodlanders and daughter of Oscar-winning cinematographer Chris Menges (The Mission, The Killing Fields, Michael Collins).
THE HOST explores the dark corners of the human psyche through the eyes of Robert and Vera, both have secrets that lead to their demise. A chance opportunity arises for Robert Atkinson, a London banker who risks his banks money to leave the mundane behind and start a new life. To take advantage, he unwittingly signs up with the Chinese cartel to transport a briefcase to Amsterdam. But all is not as it seems in a city veiled by dark secrets. Fuelled by power players, drugs, seduction and violence Robert awaits his turn in a deadly game of choice and consequence.

THE HOST will be available to rent or own on all major VOD platforms including iTunes, Amazon Video, Apple TV, Google Play, Microsoft Movies and TV and Fandango Now from 17th April.
