Ozwald Boateng hosts a group exhibition of artists represented by Kamba Fine Art at his iconic Savile Row flagship store from 20 November to 5 January 2015. Kamba Fine Art has curated a bespoke exhibition for Ozwald Boateng’s gallery, featuring unique pieces by artists including; Dominique Zinkpe, Ingrid Baars, Jean-Baptiste Sevette and Babajide Olatunji. Ozwald Boateng commented about the collaboration in his gallery: African culture is key to the future of the world, and I look forward to celebrating artists of African descent within my space.
Kamba Fine Art was founded by Leyla Simple in 2011. A former interior designer, Leyla is always on the lookout for new talent, travelling regularly to Africa where she looks for emerging artists to showcase and nurture in her exhibitions. She recently exhibited at the MULTIPLIED art fair at Christie’s, and at the Tribal Art Fair in London, and is planning pop up shows around the world to showcase the talent of the artists she discovers.
Leyla commented about the exhibition at Ozwald Boateng: Our Kamba team is particularly delighted to be work with Ozwald Boateng; he is a great and innovative artist in his own right, and each collection he creates is both inspiring and elegant. We hope that the combination of art – Ozwald’s and the artists we bring together – will create something truly unique for those who attend the show. The Kamba Fine Art hallmark has always been to present the best of modern art from different media and from selected African countries. Our selections are always a blend of established leaders in selected categories, complemented by a set of selected rising stars of the future – the combination creates a unique blend of the best of contemporary African art in all of its forms.
Entries for the Kamba Fine Art Prize can be submitted to art prize@kambafineart.com until 19 January 2015.
