Basel Art Week is once again the centre of the art world, drawing collectors, curators, artists and galleries from across the globe. While Art Basel remains the headline act, the city is packed with fairs offering everything from museum-quality masterpieces to emerging artists and experimental projects. Here are four fairs worth adding to your itinerary next week.
1. Art Basel 16th–21st June 2026 Messe Basel

The fair that defines fair week. Art Basel returns with 290 galleries from 43 countries, bringing together rare 20th-century masterworks, post-war icons and some of the most talked-about contemporary artists working today. New for 2026 is Basel Exclusive, an initiative encouraging galleries to unveil major works for the first time during the VIP preview. Beyond the booths, visitors can explore 59 large-scale projects curated by Ruba Katrib, alongside the return of Parcours, Kabinett and the fair’s dedicated sectors for emerging and historical presentations. If there is one place where the global art market takes the temperature of contemporary art, it’s here. @artbasel
2. Liste Art Fair Basel, 15th–21st June 2026, Messe Basel, Hall 1.1
Now in its 30th year, Liste remains the essential destination for discovering the next generation of artists and galleries. This year’s edition brings together 105 galleries from 36 countries, including 41 first-time exhibitors, with a strong emphasis on emerging practices and ambitious solo presentations. Alongside the gallery booths, the fair’s Wall section invites artist-run spaces and independent initiatives to take over newly configured architectural spaces, reinforcing Liste’s reputation as one of the most influential launchpads in contemporary art. @liste_art_fair_basel
3. Basel Social Club 14th–21st June 2026 A former private bank in central Basel

Part exhibition, part social experiment, Basel Social Club has quickly become one of Art Week’s most talked-about destinations. Taking over an abandoned private bank for 2026, the project transforms the building’s vaults, offices and public spaces into a sprawling exhibition featuring galleries, artists, performances, food, music and unexpected interventions. Less focused on transactions and more on atmosphere, discovery and conversation, Basel Social Club offers an alternative model to the traditional fair format while attracting many of the same art world players. @basel.social.club
4. VOLTA Basel 15th–21st June 2026 Messeplatz, Basel

VOLTA continues to champion international galleries and emerging talent in a more approachable fair environment. Long regarded as one of Basel Week’s strongest discovery platforms, the fair combines solo and focused presentations with a programme designed to spotlight artists on the rise. Positioned just moments from the main fair grounds, VOLTA remains a favourite for collectors looking beyond the blue-chip market and galleries seeking a more intimate setting for meaningful conversations and new discoveries. @voltaartfairs
