Frieze has announced the appointment of Frank Lasry as its new Chief Operating Officer. Lasry brings more than two decades of international leadership across art fairs, auction houses and galleries. He will join Frieze in June 2026. In his new role, reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer Simon Fox, he will oversee operations across Frieze’s global fairs and initiatives.

Born in France, Lasry began his art-sector career at Christie’s, holding senior managerial positions in Paris, London, Dubai and Hong Kong, and culminating as Chief Operating Officer in London. He went on to serve as Chief Operating Officer for Phillips in Europe and Asia, leading teams across London, Paris, Geneva and Hong Kong and spearheading its expansion into new markets.

From 2018 to 2023, Lasry held senior roles at Art Basel, including Managing Director, where he worked across its fairs in Basel, Hong Kong, Paris and Miami, playing a key role in the launch of Art Basel Paris. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Perrotin, managing logistics, operations and specific initiatives across nine international locations.

Simon Fox, CEO of Frieze, said:

‘I am delighted to welcome Frank to the Frieze team. His extensive operational experience in the art world will be invaluable to us as we continue to expand globally and strengthen our offering for galleries, collectors and partners.’

‘I am absolutely delighted to join the Frieze team and look forward to starting this new journey with the team and the wider Frieze community’

says Frank Lasry, Chief Operating Officer, Frieze.

‘Frieze is a unique brand with a mission to expand the reach and understanding of contemporary art, and I could not be prouder to be associated with it.’

Lasry joins Frieze, part of MARI, the global live events and experiences company, bringing together a portfolio of leading live experiences across culture and sport.
