Soup has announced the representation of Nina Silverberg, following her 2024 solo exhibition ‘The Library’ and ahead of a solo presentation of new paintings at Artissima, Turin (30th October – 2nd November).
Silverberg (b. 1994, Rome) received her BA in Fine Art Painting from City and Guilds of London Art School in 2018. Her paintings are marked by their quiet energy, muted palette and often small scale. Characterised by both a solitary stillness and an implied intimacy, she examines ideas of isolation, sickness and the relationship between interior and exterior worlds. Following a prolonged period of illness in her early adulthood, the artist’s subjects frequently include timeless signifiers of human care and comfort. Sick beds serve as analogous self-portraits; silhouetted structures act as architectural archetypes of the Mediterranean home; gloves personify a fashion-forward approach to protection or precaution; and, most recently, books embody an escape to that inviting inner realm.
Previous solo exhibitions include ‘Fittings’ at Huxley-Parlour (Wiltshire, 2025), ‘Homesick’ at Monti8 (Rome, 2025), ‘Through a Window’ at Alzueta Gallery (Madrid, 2024) and ‘The Library’ at Soup (London, 2024). Recent group exhibitions include ‘face to face’ at 8 Vine Yard (London, 2025), ‘Echo’ at Coulisse Gallery (Stockholm, 2025), ‘The Silver Cord’ at Huxley-Parlour (London, 2024), ‘Changing The Subject’ at Annely Juda (London, 2024), ‘A Quiet Room, A Place in Your Heart’ at WOAW Gallery (Singapore, 2024) , ‘Nina Silverberg & Plum Cloutman’ at 1969 Gallery (New York, 2024), ‘The Bruise’ at Long Story Short (New York, 2024) and ‘Holders’ at Coulisse Gallery (Stockholm, 2024).
