Young people based in London who are aged 18-24 can now apply to join the programme, with applications open until 9am on February 3rd.

The Youth Collective meets weekly on a Wednesday evening, to learn more about the British Museum and work on co-producing events aimed at other young people. Through events, workshops and creative online content, the Youth Collective aims to spark conversations and influence change at the Museum.

The 2024 Youth Collective co-created two events at the Museum, including Here comes the sun, which celebrated midsummer by exploring solar worship across the globe, and Barter and bazaar: a journey of exchange, which encouraged visitors to explore communities and cultures in connection with the Silk Roads exhibition.

Members of the Youth Collective get:

•    Access behind the scenes at the British Museum
•    Support and training
•    Travel costs to the Museum when travelling in Zones 1–6
•    Food and snacks when attending meetings
•    Free entry to British Museum exhibitions.

This year’s programme will run from March to the end of November 2025.
