If you want to start the year on a cheery note and push through the grim weather and news, then head to 54 The Gallery in Shepherd Market, Mayfair where Kate Mayer’s paintings await. Mayer’s abstract works feature energetic colours and textures, designed to uplift the spirit and celebrate the present moment and they’ve been combined with experiences to give visitors a sense of calm and healing.
It’s not just a feast for the eyes as the gallery will feature a soundscape by author and meditation guide Jasmin Harsono. This soundscape inspired Mayer’s paintings and the ability to listen in to it is an integral part of experiencing the art. It’s designed to envelop us in a field of healing sound and visuals, and visitors can download the soundtrack to keep the experience going when they get home.
There will be workshops held by Sushma Sagar, master energy healer, inspired by the artist’s work. They will centre around vibrational energy, how we use it and work with it, to positively affect and understand our everyday lives. There will also be a colour-centric workshop that explores how colour can affect our mood and have a positive effect on our lives.
Art, sound and light will all come together to provide the escape we may need just as the January blues are setting in – it’s the exhibition we need right now.
Kate Mayer Presents Glow Up: Art, Energy, and Elevation, 54 The Gallery, 54 Shepherd Market, Mayfair, London from 6th-11th January.
