New Art Fair Launches with price cap of £600

ST.ART Gallery was founded with the core mission of supporting emerging artists and making the process of collecting more accessible. After three years of pop-up exhibitions around London, ST.ART has taken a great leap into a permanent space in Oxford Circus. In keeping with the gallery’s goal to open up the art market, ST.ART director, Charlie Pannell has launched a new project, the (Actually) Attainable Art Fair. This initiative was born in response to the high prices often seen at art fairs (£10,000+), Pannell has introduced a price cap of £600 for a range of pieces, including prints, sculptures and smaller works, from the 19 participating artists.

Our goal is to make the art market accessible for emerging talent and new collectors alike. In response to the high prices often seen at art fairs (£10,000+), we are introducing a price cap of £600 for a range of pieces, including prints and smaller works, from our artists.

We hope to make it easier for new collectors to start their journey while ensuring fair compensation for artists.

The artists were selected from a public open call and includes graduates from some of the top art schools in the world as well as untrained artists who have amassed significant online audiences for their practices. Pannell’s curation is an exploration of the dynamic between practices backed by art institutions and those elevated by public opinion. Social media has transformed the landscape of what it means to be an artist and what it takes to succeed.

Participating artists:

Alana Lindsay, Anastassia Zamaraeva, Ari Maghsoudi, Hannah Lipsey, Heiyi Tam, Isabelle Offer, Jasmine Marshall, Kathy Murillo, Liza Molnár, Louisa Schmolke, Loulou Elliott, Lucy Reed, Quincy Madeit, Reinhard Agyekum, Song Lim, Tong Wu, Tygar Miles-Smith, Yewon Lee & Yunzhi Li.

Pannell hopes to establish the (Actually) Attainable Art Fair as an annual celebration, offering anyone the chance to be a collector and meet emerging artists.
