Applications to buy the works can be made through the HENI Primary website from today, Monday 11th March 2024.
The Empress Paintings is a series of works depicting compositions of red, black and gold butterfly wings. The paintings are named after influential female rulers from history, such as Hatshepsut, pharaoh of Egypt in the fifteenth century BC, and the Roman empress Agrippina.
Cosmos Paintings is a series of oil on canvas works inspired by Hirst’s interest in space, particularly the long-exposure images taken by the Hubble Space Telescope.
Satellites is a series of sculptures cast in bronze. Each work is modelled on, and named after, actual satellites that have been sent into space, including ‘Hubble’ and ‘Sputnik-1.’
To coincide with the drop, HENI presents an exhibition, The Light That Shines at Château La Coste, Provence, where a selection of works from these series are being exhibited for the first time. The exhibition is being presented with the support of the artist’s galleries, Gagosian and White Cube.
