The IFPDA Print Fair heads back to Park Avenue Armory.

The International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA) Print Fair has announced the exhibitors participating in the 2024 edition, which will be held February 15th–18th, marking the fair’s return to the historic Park Avenue Armory.

The IFPDA Print Fair was hosted at the Park Avenue Armory for 25 years before its recently completed 5-year run at the Javits Center. The 2024 edition represents a much-anticipated return to the Print Fair’s original home on the Upper East Side.

It cannot be overstated how thrilled we are to return to the Park Avenue Armory on the Upper
East Side, where we hosted the first 25 years of the IFPDA Print Fair,

We have so much history here, and it makes for the perfect venue to showcase the remarkable and rich lineage of printmaking. As always, we will present in-depth programs and discussions with major artists including Kiki Smith, Carroll Dunham, Marie Watt, and Leonardo Drew along with curators from The Met, Whitney, and Yale Art Museum that facilitate broader understandings of a complicated and deeply technical medium. These programs allow print enthusiasts and newcomers alike to better appreciate the centuries of work on view at the Fair, which spans Old Master works all the way up to our contemporary moment.

said David Tunick, President of the IFPDA.

The Fair gathers highly-vetted galleries, private dealers, and fine art print publishers from across the U.S., U.K, Europe, and Japan to present the rich history of printmaking—one of the most collaborative and technical artistic mediums—with curated booth presentations including Old Masters, traditional Japanese woodcuts, and the newest editions from world-class publishers and printmakers like Two Palms, Harlan & Weaver, and Mixografia. Major returning galleries include David Zwirner, Hauser & Wirth, Galerie Lelong (Paris), Cristea Roberts Gallery (London), Polígrafa Obra Gráfica (Barcelona), Knust Kunz Gallery Editions (Munich), and Peter Blum Gallery (New York).

This year, the IFPDA Print Fair introduces Spotlight, a new section dedicated to large-scale solo artist presentations, featuring five presentations on 144 linear feet of wall at the heart of the fair. This section includes solo presentations of artists Richard Smith (Bernard Jacobson Graphics), Howard Hodgkin (Cristea Roberts), Richard Dupont (Planthouse & Carolina Nitsch), Wood & Harrison (Polígrafa Obra Gráfica), and Chitra Ganesh (Durham Press). This special solo section provides a deeper understanding of artists for whom printmaking is an important aspect of their practice.

In addition, world-renowned South African artist William Kentridge will present never-before-seen prints as a special project with David Krut Projects. The special presentation features large-scale collages of many intaglio etchings to form epic landscapes that comment on power, trade, migration and more. One work, The Old Gods Have Retired, is notable for being one of Kentridge’s first experiments with the ‘coffee lift’ etching process, a newer sustainable technique where coffee liquid is painted directly onto an etching plate.

Another new feature at the IFPDA Print Fair is a special curatorial project showcasing prints from the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation (JSFF) collection, curated by artist Leonardo Drew. The standalone booth will feature major works acquired by collector Jordan Schnitzer selected by Drew, alongside works by the artist himself held within the JSFF collection. Drew will present a public program over the weekend at the fair.

The IFPDA Print Fair is the longest-running and largest international fair dedicated to printed editions. With more than three decades of history, the Fair has become an unmissable event on the art world’s calendar, attracting curators, collectors, and industry experts from around the globe.

We are honored to be presenting William Kentridge’s new work in a special project at the fair.
We are also delighted to see returning members like Cristea Roberts Gallery, Polígrafa Obra Gráfica, Worthington Gallery, and Galerie Martinez, plus new invitational exhibitors like Rosenberg & Co and Fredric Snitzer Gallery now that we have broken away from the scrum of
art fairs in the fall and moved back to the Upper East Side.

Jenny Gibbs, Executive Director of the IFPDA.
