Company has just announced the representation of Leyla Faye.
Leyla Faye uses painting as a meditation to explore moments of wholeness within the realities of hyphenated identity. Inspired by ideas of shape-shifting, the mundane and discarded materials that make up the textural landscapes of her paintings, are transformed into psychic environments. And in an attempt to merge the boundaries of their amnesic realities, the figures in her narratives do a balancing act between explorations of authenticity and belonging.
Faye received her BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA in Painting and Printmaking at the Yale University of Art in New Haven. Her work was recently exhibited at Liste Art Fair, Basel; Frieze Art Fair, New York; Lyles & King Gallery, New York; and Almine Rech Gallery, Brussels. She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. @leyla.faye
