The Bagri Foundation will be the Presenting Partner for Artes Mundi 10 (2023) and Artes Mundi 11 (2025) it has been announced. This collaboration will be the Foundation’s first major partnership within the UK outside of London and marks a significant milestone for both organisations.

“As we forge ahead toward Artes Mundi 10 in spring/summer 2023 and Artes Mundi 11 in 2025, this partnership provides us a significant investment toward achieving what we aim to do with and for artists, audiences and communities alike. We are delighted that the Bagri Foundation join with us in supporting the future exhibitions and prizes, providing a range and depth of opportunities accessible to all.”

Nigel Prince, Director of Artes Mundi

Artes Mundi and the Bagri Foundation share a commitment to support international contemporary visual arts practice and elevate dialogue surrounding the connections between local and global issues. This new partnership will enable the delivery of an ambitious programme centred on the biennial exhibition and associated prize, plus a public programme of talks, workshops, commissions and other activities for Artes Mundi 10 and Artes Mundi 11.

With a mission to weave together traditional Asian culture with contemporary thinking, the Bagri Foundation supports diverse programmes across film, visual arts, music, dance, literature and talks and provides artists and experts from across Asia and the diaspora a platform for dialogue on the global stage.

Through extensive programmes with the acclaimed biennial exhibition and the UK’s leading international art prize situated at its core, Artes Mundi brings together artists, locally and internationally, who reflect on the changing forces that shape our world and our futures. It is through this work that Artes Mundi harnesses the unique power of art to create space for debates and dialogue about the most important issues of our time and on the relations between ourselves, and familiar and distant cultures.

“We at the Bagri Foundation are excited to start this journey with Artes Mundi as Presenting Partner. The organisation’s history of providing a platform to artists working with cross-border and multi-disciplinary approaches resonates deeply with the Foundation’s mission. With this partnership, together with Artes Mundi, we hope to continue to provide unique opportunities to outstanding voices in contemporary visual art.”

Alka Bagri, Trustee of the Bagri Foundation
