He truly shares our vision for this new fair and we are thrilled to welcome him to the team. Minju has already been a dedicated colleague and I’m delighted that she will take on the vital new role of Head of VIP relations for Asia.’
Victoria Siddall, Board Director of Frieze
In this position, Pat will work closely with Minju Kweon, who has been appointed to the new role of Head of VIP relations, Asia. Together with the global Frieze team, they will deliver an ambitious programme to launch Frieze’s first venture in Seoul and lead Frieze’s outreach in the region.
I am truly honoured and excited to be a part of the Frieze team and look forward to launching the Frieze platform in Asia. The best art fairs are the ones that inspire dialogue, exchange and create memorable moments for all of the players involved. Seoul is an amazing city with a well-known appreciation of the arts and is the perfect place to host a global art event of this calibre.’
Pat Lee
Pat has over 15 years of experience working in the arts, most recently as Executive Director of Gallery Hyundai in Seoul and previously as partner and director of ONE AND J. Gallery also located in Seoul. Patrick will work alongside Eva Langret (Director, Frieze London) and Nathan Clements-Gillespie (Director, Frieze Masters) and report to Kristell Chadé, recently appointed Executive Director of Frieze fairs.
Launching in partnership with the Galleries Association of Korea, the new fair will demonstrate a shared commitment to celebrating the city’s thriving creative community.
Frieze Seoul will run alongside KIAF ART SEOUL, South Korea’s leading art fair, which has showcased the best Korean galleries for the past 20 years. Together, the two events will bring galleries from across Asia and the rest of the world to Seoul, creating an unmissable week of activity for both local and international art audiences.
