6 Natural Ways to Deal With Pain Relief

Having to deal with any kind of pain is always a challenge. Whether it’s a mild nuisance or chronic pain that’s dulling your everyday joy and dampening your life, you naturally want to find a way to relieve it.

And if that source of pain relief can also be natural and not made in a lab, all the better for your body and mind.

Let’s look at six natural ways you can relieve pain.

1. Lavender Essential Oil

Inhaling lavender essential oil has been shown to treat pain effectively. Do bear in mind that you should not ingest it, and that it should only be used topically.

You can use it with an aromatherapy set and let the scent permeate your space.

Lavender is great for relaxation and pain relief, but some people don’t particularly like its scent. If that’s the case, don’t force it. It won’t do you much good if you are nauseated by it, and fortunately, there are other natural potions you can turn to.

2. Mitragyna Speciosa

Another plant that can help you relieve pain in a natural way is Mitragyna Speciosa, also known as Kratom.

Kratom helps if you are suffering from insomnia or dealing with consistent pain, and it’s also a good mood-booster. Make sure you use find the real thing and apply the appropriate dose. This site covers it in depth, so do check it out before your first use of the plant.

3. Cloves

If you have a toothache, cloves can prove to be the solution. They’ve been used for centuries as a natural way to deal with tooth pain. In fact, cloves might be as effective as gels that are used for the same purpose.

You can find clove oil online and  you can probably find it at a local herbal store, too. Make sure to ask how much you should be using, though.

4. Capsaicin

Capsaicin is a substance that is present in chilli peppers, and it’s what makes them hot.

When it comes to pain relief, you need to work topically with capsaicin, which will cause a mild tingling or burning sensation. Ingesting it might provide a tasty meal, but it won’t help with the pain.

While we’re not yet sure how this spicy substance works, it is believed that it dulls pain by dulling the nerves that carry pain signals.

5. Ginger

Ginger is another great way to reduce pain, especially if it’s been caused by muscle inflammation. If you are a runner or like to work out, you can try taking 2 grams of ginger daily for 5 days, and it should help.

You can easily add ginger to your diet via teas, smoothies, or a ginger-lemon tonic.

6. Turmeric

Turmeric is another incredibly powerful spice that can help relieve pain. Curcuma, its active agent, will help you feel better.

It’s proven that curcuma extract can be as effective as ibuprofen, so before you reach for a drug next time, you might want to try turmeric.

You can add it to curries (which is what it’s best known for), smoothies, juices, and on your meat or potatoes.

Final Thoughts

Any of these six natural remedies can help with your pain. However, it’s best to consider the source of your discomfort first. Whether you are suffering from a toothache, headache, muscle strain, or something else, you want to choose your remedy accordingly.

Lastly, you want to ensure you can use these natural remedies safely. Speak to your doctor and check whether they interact with some of the other medications you’re taking.
