Over the last 3 weeks, RedD Gallery based in Crete has been hosting a serious of daily Live Instagram art talks with various art professionals from the industry called Art From The Quarantine. The first 2 weeks of talks were primarily focused on the artists that the gallery is currently representing but this week the gallery has also opened it up to art dealers and gallerists and next week they will be talking to a fair director as well.
” I started these talks as an outlet for art professionals to talk about what they are currently experiencing within isolation; if they are more or less productive during this time and their predictions for the future of the art world. If they are practicing artist we have had a look at their studios or home, spoken about shows being canceled or postponed and if their work is on any online platforms, etc. We have spoken to people in the US, Europe, and Africa.”

The general tone of the talks is serious but also fun, I have found that most people enjoy them despite all the stress COVID 19 has caused because it gives us all an opportunity to talk about our work and see familiar faces that we normally only see during some of the international fairs.
