The latest edition of The Other Art Fair takes place at Victoria House in Bloomsbury, where the curators have transformed the corporate looking entrance into an enticing aladdin’s cave with a selection of neons from Lights of Soho.
Going down the stairs you enter a rabbit warren of aesthetic pleasures, with a wide range of work from embroidery to taxidermy, photography to oil painting, and light art to ceramics. Alice in Wonderland herself is featured in beautiful 3D scenes created by Alexander Korzer-Robinson (Stand 40) and reminiscent of Peter Blake’s famous collages.
Self-reflection is encouraged by witty musings on mirrors by artist-prankster Graeme Messer (Stand 61), his ‘I Love This Motherfucker’ mirror quickly becoming an Instagram favourite.
Victoriana mixed with surrealism, and rave culture juxtaposed with Romanticism are features of Soozy Lipsey’s stand (70), featuring a new series of half-paintings mounted in vintage frames.
Fashion illustration meets fine art in the beautiful watercolours of Bridget Davies (Stand 99).
