The brand new East London Painting Prize aimed at supporting the best of East London talent has been created by The Legacy List, the charity of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park with the Goldhill Family and in association with Bow Arts.
The prize commemorates the life and work of painter and philanthropist, Jack Goldhill and his major contributions to the East End. The prize is open to both established and emerging artists living or working in the East London Boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Barking and Dagenham and Redbridge.

The East London Painting Prize aims to explore and celebrate the diversity in painting practices and different approaches to the medium and to champion contemporary artists emerging from East London. The Prize also acts as a platform for artists to showcase their work alongside other artists in this field.

It’s a great opportunity for artists to expose their work to an influential panel and develop their career whilst being part of a celebration of the major talent emerging from East London.

The Prize
– Shortlisted artists will take part in a group show with prize event
– The selected winner will receive a £10,000 cash prize and a prominent solo show at the Nunnery Gallery.
– The winning artist will also have the opportunity to form part of the significant panel in the 2015 East London Painting Prize.
