Frieze has just announced the introduction of the Frieze Artist Award, a major new opportunity to create and present site-specific artwork at Frieze London 2014. The award is open for entries, to both UK and international artists between 25–40 years of age.
Entrance is by open submission and the winner will be selected by an international panel of artists and curators. The recipient will have the unique opportunity to present their work at Frieze London under the auspices of Frieze Projects. The closing date for applications is 10 March 2014. The winner will be announced in May 2014.
The Frieze Artist Award sits within a distinguished history of artist awards presented at Frieze Art Fair, including the Emdash Award (2011–2013) and ?the Cartier Award (2006–2010).
The Frieze Artist Award includes:
• A Production budget up to £10,000
• A Research and Development (R&D) budget up to £5,000
• An Artist’s Fee of £2,000
• Per diems and travel expenses
