The Sketchbook Show: On until 1st of August until the 2nd of September @ Graffiti life, 26 Cheshire Street, E2 6EH

As a personal document, the sketchbook can take many forms and meanings. It can provide uncensored opportunities to explore visual language and act as a personal platform for invention and experimentation. Meanwhile it can also be a place for revising ideas and developing concepts. To celebrate our love for drawing and sketchbooks, we have invited a large selection of artists to submit pages from their own sketchbooks which will all be on sale at a fixed price. The show will feature pages assembled wall to wall as if making the gallery space a visual walk-through into the minds of all of the participating artists. The show aims to create an over-whelming experience that allows visitors to explore the raw and uncut scribblings of over 50 artists working across many fields; including illustration, graffiti, design and animation.

About Graffiti life:The Graffiti Life Gallery is an independent gallery located in London’s East End, the heart of London’s Street Art scene. Set up by a collective of graffiti artists and creatives, the gallery supports both it’s in-house artists and independent artists with backgrounds in Graffiti and Street Art.We pride ourselves in supporting and displaying works from artists that actively participate in the culture of Graffiti, irrespective of whether it is reflected in their work or not. This enables us to hold regular shows that exhibit a wide variety works, across all mediums, that are authentically produced. The gallery is currently open to the public on Sundays from 11am – 4pm and by appointment throughout the week.
