Liu Bolin, or the man behind the camouflaging Invisible Man photo series – was in New York this past weekend promoting his latest exhibition dubbed “Mask.” On Sunday the Chinese portrait artist invited the press to come out to the Eli Klein Fine Art Gallery for a preshow that offered a look how he and his team create his profound images. In regards to his preshow Bolin mentions, “’today, my work here at eli kein fine art is about guns, and the many types of fire arms that are out there. For example, the frequently used AK-47 and others used by the U.S. military. Before this piece, I have created another one related to the sword and knife which I still have yet to realize.” “Gun Rack” is inspired by how various nations around the world approach arms and weapons control. Liu Bolin’s Invisible Man “Mask” series will be shown now until July 21 at Eli Klein’s Gallery on West Broadway in New York.
