Richard Woods Book Signing
British artist Richard Woods will be signing the new book The Art & Craft of Richard Woods at the Lund Humphries stand (M1), which has been designed by the artist.
Renowned for his signature architectural interventions and transformations, Woods creates encompassing installations of hand-printed woodblock floors, walls and exterior elevations. He combines art, craft, design and architecture to manipulate his surroundings and to shape an existing environment into a new reality. Woods has undertaken exhibitions and projects at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London; Royal Academy of Arts, London; Grieder Contemporary, Zurich; Deitch Projects, New York and Miami; Cosmic Galerie, Paris; and the 50th Venice Biennale.

Talk: Keith Vaughan: The Unseen Photographs and their Influence on the Artist’s Work
Philip Vann and Gerard Hastings, authors of the new, comprehensive monograph Keith Vaughan published by Lund Humphries, present this fascinating illustrated lecture. They analyse the strong influence of photographs taken by the artist (and only very recently discovered) on paintings and gouaches made by Vaughan during the 1960s and 1970s.
Keith Vaughan by Philip Vann and Gerard Hastings now provides for the first time a definitive and illustrated account of the life and work of this long-neglected artist.

Talk: ‘Unfolding Landscape’
Artist Jeremy Gardiner in conversation with Pallant House curator Simon Martin
Pallant House curator Simon Martin talks with British artist Jeremy Gardiner (b. 1957) about his art, his fascination with coastal landscapes and geology, his innovative working methods and the new, comprehensive book The Art of Jeremy Gardiner: Unfolding Landscape published by Lund Humphries and launched at London Art Fair.
Gardiner’s paintings and prints – depicting the coastal landscape of southern England – place him within a tradition in Modern British art encompassing John Tunnard (1900–71), Paul Nash (1889–1946) and Ben Nicholson (1894–1982). While indebted to British and American Modernism, Gardiner’s new conceptual rigour and technical repertoire is informed by science, geomorphology, new technologies and direct physical engagement with ancient landscapes. The construction of Gardiner’s paintings is experimental and his pioneering approach to his use of materials makes Gardiner one of Britain’s most original contemporary landscape artists.
