CONSTRUCT & COMPLY An installation by DSC at Sanderson Hotel Private View Thursday July 14th 2011

July 15th – August 14th, 2011
The relationship between brand lust and form are explored in a provoking installation, part of the Delight & Destroy series by artist DSC. The question is, are we conditioned to desire an object on logo alone? The premise is asked with the transformation of the mundane into luxury. Elevating and reconstituting their form and displaying it with a jewel like beauty that is akin to a superficial alchemy. Step into the workshop and find the answer yourself.

Welsh born artist David Gwyther studied Architecture before practicing internationally. Now based in London, Gwyther is the man behind the cult motion art brand DSC. DSC works with urethane paint to transform the state of existing objects, often playing with themes of consumption and desire. Debuting in 2010 with a sellout solo show, a swift rise to fame fuelled by rapid accumulation of fans fed by both digital and print looks set to continue with the 2011 Delight & Destroy series.
