An innovative way to fund art from ArtQuest

Artquest has just launched Generator, an innovative new project .

They want to raise money through crowd-funding to award three bursaries to UK artists, allowing them time and money to produce a new body of artistic work – this could be painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, or contemporary crafts such as jewellery or ceramics. The completed works will then be exhibited in a central London gallery later in 2011.

They have set a crowd-funding goal of £9000; once they have reached that they will open a UK-wide call for artists.

Donations are even rewarded – donate from as little as £20 to receive a reward.
The more you donate, the more rewards you receive: give £500 and you’ll receive a limited-edition artists’ print plus all of the other smaller rewards listed on their WeDidThis webpage.

If you donate more than £1000 you could also get the chance to join us on the selection panel for the project. Companies who donate will get their logo and web link displayed at the gallery exhibition, in all printed publicity and on the Artquest website.

The first 20 supporters of our Generator project will also receive three specially commissioned screensavers artworks designed by the selected artists.
