ANNABELLE MOREAU The Observatory at Riflemaker Private View Monday 21st March 2011

March 21 – April 30
ANNABELLE MOREAU’S ROOM-SIZE MAQUETTE
consists of interiors, models and sounds for the walk-in installation The Observatory

The visitor moves between three spaces, three senses, each bringing a different kind of ‘enlightenment’

The Observatory begins at the point at which the visitor’s perception of the physical world is temporarily suspended as the mind reflects on what is sensed through the inter-relationship of light, space and sound. Each volumetric interior introduces a new feeling, inviting the viewer to consider his or her real-time and real-space presence in relation to what is perceived.

What he or she experiences there may inform the human spirit.

A 3D book with texts and essays by Jon Wood, Robert J. Rosenthal and Annabelle Moreau has been published in an edition of 700 to accompany the exhibition.
