In May, the Catlin Art Prize will showcase artists selected from The Catlin Guide 2011. The exhibition remains unique in providing the artists with the time and support to develop their practice and produce a brand new and site specific body of work. 2011 marks the 5th year of the Catlin Art Prize and to celebrate this milestone, we are increasing the winner’s prize fund and introducing a new bursary; The Catlin Commission.
As with The Catlin Guide, the short-listed artists will be selected for their potential to make a significant mark in the art world during the next decade. Based on this criteria, a panel of judges will award one artist with a prize of £5,000, while the winner of The Catlin Commission will receive funding to complete a new piece for the Catlin collection.
