On the 16th & 17th October ABSOLUT VODKA will offer the public a rare opportunity to gain access to the creative process to enter the mind of the artist and a chance to view art from a different perspective – through the eyes of its creators. It will host a series of intimate and informal talks and workshops in a temporary creative studio space: the ABSOLUT ARTISTS’ SALON on Portland Place – just a stone’s throw from the fair. Set under All Visual Arts’ highly anticipated ‘Vanitas’ exhibition it will provide participants with a stimulating arena in which to appreciate one of the most dynamic and important events in contemporary art. For those attending Frieze, tuk-tuk shuttles will be provided between the fair’s site in Regent’s Park and the beautiful Georgian home of the ABSOLUT ARTISTS’ SALON.

ABSOLUT VODKA will be collaborating with some of the UK’s most exciting and admired artists, including Kate MccGwire, Hugo Wilson, Jodie Carey and Reece Jones, all of whom reflect ABSOLUT VODKA’s belief that ‘doing things differently leads to something exceptional’. Whether it be through their use of unusual materials, such as feathers, bone or concrete, or the way they treat more traditional materials in an innovative way, they are visionaries in their approach and delivery.

Set to be a fascinating and inspiring experience, the ABSOLUT ARTISTS’ SALON will give a rare insight into the creative process. In studio one, the artists, all of whom feature in ‘Vanitas’, will discuss their method and the spirit that motivates them and informs their work. Participants will also be taken through the exhibition by the creative minds behind it, giving them the chance to engage with the work in a novel and enriching way.
In a studio two, ABSOLUT VODKA collaborates with a group of breakthrough artists including Arran
Gregory, Ann-Marie James and George Morton-Clark to create an active workshop. As these artists make new work, the public will be invited to join in and get their hands dirty, experimenting with a variety of materials and inspired by their experiences and time with the artists.
