Lisson Gallery: ‘In Conversation’ Lunchtime art talks

Lisson Gallery is to present a programme of occasional free lunchtime talks, offering a unique opportunity to hear Lisson Gallery artists, other cultural figures and gallery staff discuss art and related
topics.

Each talk gives the opportunity to discover first-hand the thoughts, processes and insights behind the artists’ work. Each lecture is free but booking is essential as there are a limited number of places
available.

The third in the series will be a conversation between Ryan Gander, Lisson’s Louise Hayward and Greg Hilty, Curatorial Director, about works in Gander’s first solo show at Lisson Gallery, ‘You walk into a
space, any space’.

For his first solo exhibition at the Lisson Gallery, Ryan Gander has created a body of work which takes the viewer on a pin-ball like journey through an idiosyncratic history of art, film and media. Whether you
enter the living room of Ernö Goldfinger, stumble upon Degas’ ‘Dancer’, narrowly miss a shower of arrows piercing the gallery floor, or attempt to flee via an escape hatch in the ceiling, each work leads you
into a different perceptual space.

Gander has exhibited widely in museums and galleries throughout the world and has a major solo exhibition at Haus Konstruktiv opening in June 2010. He has had a number of solo museum exhibitions
including CCA Wattis, San Francisco, Villa Arson, Nice, MUMOK Vienna, Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Rotterdam, Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, the DAIWA Viewing Rooms, Hiroshima. Gander lives
and works in London and Suffolk.
