1 When did you start to make art?
I was always interested in being creative and this manifested towards something more serious during my GCSE’s. However, I did not pursue and it after and did very little creative work. When I began my foundation 7 years later it was the first time that I had seriously considered making art since secondary school.

2 What drove you to make art as a professional vocation?
I had already tried working in an office and realised it was not for me. It took some time to realise however. But I’m happy that I did this as it made my sure that I wanted to be a professional artist.

4 Explain your inspiration?
It’s hard to point at a particular source but cinema has always been an important component of triggering my creative thinking. I’m often amazed at its power to create escapism. During my travels I realised for many, this was more than entertainment but rather a tool to momentarily break away from their harsh realities.

5 In what way does your inspiration transform into ideas?
Similar to cinema, I have always been interested in creating environments with my work – drawing the audience into another space and place. I think this detachment can make one consider matters further.

7 Could your ideas be portrayed in any other medium? If so which?

Working with different mediums has always been part of my process. I feel it allows me to consider the content of my work (even if it’s the same) from different angles.

8 Which artists would you most like to blatantly rip off?
Michelle Gondry, but I prefer to use the word ‘inspired’

9 Why is your art made?

Because for now, I have to make it – it acts as a tool for me to answer my own questions.

10 What does being an artists mean to you?

It means I can express my concerns using my wildest ideas as components.

13 What is art?
It exists on the frontier of subjectivity.

14 How do you start the process of making work?

Ideas always form in very abstract ways. Through a process of research and brainstorming things become more cohesive.

15 Who prices your work? And how is the price decided upon?
Thus far I have had great advice from the Artscom team at CSM.

16 What is your next; move, project, show etc?
Future map is the next move. After serious studio time – lots of R&D and experimentation technically.

17 What are the pros and cons of the art market?
It’s so rich and has so much to teach you as an artist and person. However, I think we often underestimate how much business plays a part.

18 Which pieces would you like to be remembered for?

To early to answer that.

19 Any routine in making your artwork? If so what?
Not really

21 How many artworks have you given away and to whom?
None that I can remember
