28 July 2009 Liliane Lijn
Power Game is a one-night-only performance by Liliane Lijn. Originally staged by Lijn in 1974, Power Game is concerned with the power of words and how people interpret meaning depending on their interests and preconceptions. A highly visual, unrehearsed performance, Power Game investigates the politics of identity and power. The stakes are high; the twenty invited players bet real money on the power of words. There are no actors and no audience. Members of the public are invited to enter the Casino and play. Chips down to play the game (minimum £5 exchanged to enter the Theatre). Alternatively, the action can be viewed in the ICA Bar, via a live relay onto video screens. The house profits will support the Free Tibet Fund and the ICA Free.
