The Whole: A Study in Oist Integrated Movement
To know Shaw’s work is a definite advantage in viewing this exhibition. To appreciate the work one must first know that it is about the changing cycles of doctrines.
He is able to highlight humorous discrepancies in contemporary belief systems, that in turn enables the viewer to liberate themselves from the acceptance of the modern practices that result in indoctrination.
The show remains an interesting one as production is always good at Simon Lee, but I am unconvinced about the production of this show. Some of the photo’s are to small (and nailed to the wall) and could be quite exiting at a slightly larger scale, although I would recommend for the more ardent gallery visitors.
Shaw’s work remains important and worth knowing about, you could research him on the web, but why do that when there is a perfectly good show in town, get on down and get indoctrinated at spotting indoctrinations. Simon Lee gallery
