The Swiss Institute in New York Presents Pierre Vadi – Delta

pierrevadi2
The Swiss Institute presents Pierre Vadi – Delta, on view through January 31, 2009. Delta by Pierre Vadi evokes visions of a lunar landscape where thin atmosphere has vitrified and warped. Rather than finding sedimentary deposits, one discovers the traces of construction: furled acrylic sheets, scattered stone screws, and circular saws of resin. The exhibition casts an anxiety onto all progression. It positions the viewer in a space where possible pasts and futures collide.

Pierre Vadi is a Swiss artist who lives and works in Geneva. His most recent projects include Sas at le Credac, Centre d’Art contemporain d’Ivry in Ivry Sur Seine (2008); Coma at Le Spot, Centre d’art contemporain in Le Havre(2007); and Blackout with Philippe Decrauzat at Hard Hat in Geneva(2007). Recent group exhibitions include ECAL: A Success Story in Art and Design organized by John Armleder at L’Elax in Rennes and Emotional Landscapes at Kunsthalle Fri-Art in Fribourg. With the kind support of Fonds d’art contemporain de la ville de Genève (Fmac).
