Hauser & Wirth to occupy former Dia:Chelsea building in New York

Hauser and Wirth will occupy the former Dia:Chelsea building as a temporary downtown location in New York City, while constructing on their future permanent home next door continues. 548 West 22nd Street is a beautiful masonry structure that hosted Dia Art Foundation’s exhibitions from 1987 to 2004.

We are honored and delighted by the prospect of presenting Hauser & Wirth exhibitions in the birthplace of the West Chelsea arts scene, and by the opportunity to work in a building that is so loved internationally as a landmark of contemporary art history.

The first show at this location will open in Autumn 2016 and Hauser& Wirth will continue to present exhibitions there through 2018.
