Jeff Koons’ ‘Coloring Book’ Sculpture raises over $13 million for aids charity.

Jeff Koons created an 18.5ft sculpture titled “Coloring Book” that has just been auctioned at a charity event near Cannes for $13.2 million USD for AIDS research.

A long list of celebrities were in attendance at the annual amfAR event “Cinema Against AIDS” including Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Fassbender and Sienna Miller among many others.

The event took place at the Hotel de Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes and included other works up for auction including a Banksy donated by Leonardo DiCaprio and a portrait of Elizabeth Taylor by Andy Warhol. $35 million USD was raised for the organization.

amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and the advocacy of AIDS-related public policy.
