The Old Vic is running an online auction with Christie’s, and a £10 e-raffle of a Tracey Emin neon, to raise funds for The Old Vic Theatre Trust.

Tracey Emin has donated her ‘Wanting You green and turquoise’ neon to be raffled in aid of the theatre’s bid to secure its financial future. The piece is being sold via an e-raffle on the Christie’s website.

As well as the Raffle there is obviously an online auction which has been curated by Hamish Jenkinson featuring works by: Jonathan Yeo, Andy Holden, Elmgreen & Dragset, Conor Harrington, Paul Insect, David Shillinglaw and Nina Fowler + a few more including up and coming artists from London including Diana Chire and Nettie Wakefield.

You can see the work at a pop up gallery at 35 Brewer Street until 3rd July, when the e-auction closes . The event coincides with the Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening and Day Sales at Christie’s which opens tomorrow Tuesday 1st July and 2nd July.

In June 2012 The Arts Council England awarded The Old Vic a one-off grant of £5
million, conditional on it raising £15 million by the end of 2015. The money raised from
the online auction and £10 e-raffle will be put towards this effort.

Tracey Emin said,

“I’m a massive fan of The Old Vic and have supported them for years but this time it’s different. By donating Wanting You to be raffled it gives lots more people the opportunity of supporting The Old Vic and also owning my work – I hope that thousands of tickets are sold.”

This activity is part of an ongoing partnership between The Old Vic and Christie’s.
Chief Executive of Christie’s, Steven Murphy said, “We are honoured to work again with The Old Vic on this exclusive online-only auction hosted on christies.com. Supporting the arts and culture in the communities that Christie’s calls home is one of our most enjoyable responsibilities. The Old Vic has been an important part of the fabric of the London cultural community for many years and we support them to ensure this continues for many years to come.”
