WEEK: 10 Mar-16 Mar
There are loads of art events such as private views, artists talks, and screenings happening around London, and often it is impossible to choose where to go and what to see. To help you with the choice Jenny Judova from www.artmaplondon.co.uk will be advising on what events seem worth attending during the week.
TUESDAY 11 MARCH
Zeitgeist Arts Projects, 6-8:30pm private view ‘The Distance Between’ group show
Artists: Katrina Blannin, Rosalind Davis, Jonny Green, Mandy Hudson, Evy Jokhova, Simon Leahy-Clark, Srinivas Surti & Annabel Tilley.
I’ve only just heard about the Zeitgeist projects and because they have openings once every blue moon it makes sense to go to this one. Besides the press release sounds great ‘The Distance Between explores just that: the distance between – and the individual tensions and connections found within – eight artists and their works.’

WEDNESDAY 12 MARCH
GRAD Gallery, 6-8pm Dziga Vetrov Night (£5/3)
GRAD definitely has generous openings, and the exhibition it puts on have a strong academic background so I am pretty sure a movie night there will be great. Besides the polish born soviet movie director Dziga Vertov is a classic.

THURSDAY 13 MARCH
Anise Gallery, 6-9pm private view Thom Gorst ‘Open and Shut’
I like ruins and ships, and barges, and canal boats, so this seems exhibitions seems to be a mixture of everything I like, besides its hard to resist seeing erosion painted on bubble gum pink surfaces. The exhibition also seems to tie in well with the Tate Britain show ‘Ruin Lust’.

Dalla Rosa Gallery, 6:30-8:30pm private view Benjamin Bridges ‘Pythagoras Adrift’
I like Ben Bridge’s work: the alien worlds with floating geometric shapes, the detailed intricate explosion drawings, the colors. It will be interesting to see which of his works Della Rossa selected.

FRIDAY 14 MARCH
FOLD Gallery, 6-9pm private view ‘Enantiodromia’ group show
Artists: Simon Callery, Lawrence Carroll, Angela de la Cruz, Onya McCausland
The openings and the exhibitions at Fold are always great quality and fun. Besides the very blank image on the press release got me curious and it looks like this will be really good or a complete miss, either way there will be complimentary beer.

Chandelier, 6:30-9pm private view ‘London Dust’
Artists: Rut Blees Luxemburg and Keef Winter
With so many architectural fails made in recent years, like the the Solar Death Ray Tower (aka ‘Walkie Talkie) and the ‘on hold’ Pinnacle, this is a well timed exhibition that will look at the pretty images of architectural visualisation where the sun always shines, people are happy, and building are shiny and completed.
