Girl Rising, Academy Award-nominated director Richard E. Robbins’ new feature film about the strength of the human spirit and the power of education is coming to Rich Mix for a special one night only FREE screening on Monday 15th July.
Telling the story of girls around the world striving to improve their education, Girl Rising hosts a narration cast of Hollywood’s most respected luminaries including Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep, Liam Neeson, Salma Hayek, Anne Hathaway, Chloë Moretz and Priyanka Chopra.
The film is the centrepiece of the 10×10 campaign- a global movement to educate and empower girls. Subjects have been filmed around the globe from Cambodia, Peru, India and Afghanistan, all united by a desire to further their access to education. 10×10 is proud to be working together with Intel Corporation, the founding strategic partner of the campaign, to deliver a simple truth: educate a girl and you will change the world.
“Girl Rising is about the formative impact education can have on a girl’s life,” said director, Richard E. Robbins. “Girl Rising’s nine stories represent millions of girls who deserve to go to school, but can’t.”
Rich Mix will host this FREE screening on Monday 15th July at 6.45pm. 10×10 ambassador and performance artist Azure Antoinette will be speaking at free tech festival ‘Experience Intel’ in Spitalfields Market over the preceding weekend (12th-14th July) about her involvement in this unique campaign.
