Art13 London, sponsored by Citi Private Bank, has announced their exhibitor line-up for the first edition of the Fair, which will take place at Olympia Grand Hall in West London from 1-3 March 2013 (VIP day: 28 February 2013).
The Fair will showcase modern and contemporary art from six continents, acknowledging the quality of work produced in countries such as China, India, Africa, Australia and Brazil. The total number of galleries at Art13 London is 122 from 31 countries, asserting the Fair’s broad global reach and confirming London’s position as one of the world’s leading contemporary art centres.

The line-up thoroughly reflects the global ethos of the Fair, and the current state of the art market, which has seen a considerable growth of interest in art from previously underrepresented territories. By bringing together exhibitors from all corners of the world, we offer visitors an unparalleled opportunity to see the extraordinary quality and variety of art produced across the globe.”
In its inaugural year, and with the ever-growing focus on the East, Art13 London’s Main Section will welcome a significant number of leading galleries from across Asia, from territories including China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and India. There will be a strong presence from Chinese galleries, including Aye Gallery and Boers-Li from Beijing and Pearl Lam from Shanghai. Pearl Lam Galleries, with spaces in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore, will stage a joint presentation of work by Chinese artists Su Xiaobai and Zhu Jinshi, while Boers-Li will bring to London work by Song Kun and paintings by Zhang Wei. From South Korea, notable galleries include Cais Gallery, Hakgojae and The Page Gallery, while from Singapore 2902 Gallery and Gajah Gallery will be in attendance. From Hong Kong, Amelia Johnson Contemporary and Galerie Du Monde will participate, alongside Super Window Projects from Japan.
Super Window Projects’ booth will compare the work of two artists from very different cultures and backgrounds; Dutch artist Bouke de Vries and Japanese artist Soshi Matsunobe. From India, the Fair welcomes Gallery Sumukha from Bangalore, and Volte Gallery from Mumbai. Volte Gallery, one of the leading contemporary art galleries from the Indian subcontinent, will present work by Indian artists Sheba Chhachhi and Ranbir Kaleka while Sumakha will show installation work by Paresh Maity, as well as showcasing the current trends in Indian contemporary art by artists including Baiju Parthan, Riyas Komu, Vivek Vilasini and Ravikumar Kashi.
The Fair will host a selection of galleries from the UK and Europe including Deweer Gallery, Belgium, Karsten Schubert/Richard Saltoun, UK, Galeria Fumagalli, Italy, IBID Projects, UK, Kalman Maklary Fine Art, Hungary and Riflemaker Contemporary Art, UK. Riflemaker’s presentation will focus on female artists, including Alice Anderson, Judy Chicago and Penelope Slinger, while Kalman Maklary Fine Art will showcase work by the Hungarian Surrealist artist Judith Reigl, who will be representing Hungary at the Venice Biennale 2013.
???Art13 London is delighted to welcome a number of galleries from the Middle East including ARTSPACE, UAE and XVA Gallery, UAE. ARTSPACE, who have recently opened a new gallery in London, will present Middle Eastern artists Samira Alikhanzadeh, Mohammed Taman, Monif Ajaj, Zakaria Ramhani, Shadi Alzaqzouq and Ozan, who will individually explore the influence of their culture and traditions on their work.
The Main Section will also include a presentation from one of South Africa’s oldest and most prestigious commercial galleries, Everard Read from Johannesburg. The gallery will bring to London work by some of the leading South African contemporary artists, including Wayne Barker, Deborah Bell, Philemon Hlungwane, Paula Louw, Karel Nel, Rina Stutzer and Angus Taylor. Brundyn & Gonsalvez, one of the most promising young galleries from Johannesburg, will show a unique collaboration between Zwelethu Mthwethwa and Louis Jansen van Vuuren.
Art13 London’s recognition of the importance of photography is reflected by the Fair’s philanthropic partnership with Positive View Foundation. Art13 London will feature eight leading photography galleries including 2902 Gallery, Singapore, Brancolini Grimaldi, UK, Jack Bell, UK, Michael Hoppen, UK, and Galerie Paris-Beijing, France and China. Jack Bell will present work by one of West Africa’s pre-eminent contemporary artists Leonce Raphael Agbodjelou, featuring portraits of the people of Porto Novo, Benin, the artist’s hometown. A second focus rests with Prints & Editions, with Paragon Press launching a new series of prints by Anish Kapoor. The section underlines the Fair’s ethos of accessibility, allowing novice collectors to find interesting works by leading artists but also seasoned collectors to find hidden gems, exciting projects and unexpected collaborations.
To underline the Fair’s passionate commitment to showcasing young galleries to an international audience, Art13 London welcomes emerging galleries in Young Galleries, which will feature 17 galleries under six years of age. Representing eight countries from Asia, Russia and Europe, galleries participating in the section include 16th/Line, Russia, Aando Fine Arts, Germany, Alexander Levy, Germany, Ceri Hand, UK, Eb & Flow, UK, Gallery Soso, South Korea, Magda Danysz, China, Maria Stenfors, UK and Viltin, Hungary. Ceri Hand will present work by artists including Bedwyr Williams, who will represent Wales at the Venice Biennale 2013, while Maria Stenfors will showcase three European, female artists; Julia Pheiffer, Germany, Astrid Svangren, Sweden and Mela Yerka, Poland.
Furthermore, a separate section, London First, advised by leading curator and academic Lisa Le Feuvre, will offer 17 young galleries who have never before participated at a fair in London, the opportunity to exhibit on a global stage. Galleries selected for London First from the UK and Europe include Galerie8, IMT Gallery, and Patrick Heide Contemporary Art, from London, as well as Molnár Ani Gallery, Hungary, Aranapoveda Gallery, Spain, Dukan & Hourdequin, France, Galerie Martin Kudlek, Germany, rahncontemporary, Switzerland, Galerie Tatjana Pieters, Belgium, Temnikova & Kasela Gallery, Estonia and Galerie Zimmermann Kratochwill, Austria. Galleries from Asia and the Middle East selected for the section include Gallery Em, South Korea, Chan Hampe Galleries, Singapore, Athr Gallery, Saudi Arabia and Lawrie Shabibi, UAE, alongside Brundyn + Gonsalves, South Africa, and Scaramouche, USA.
