Absolut BLANK: Saam Farahmand Video Potraits LIVE

ABSOLUT BLANK Live – Dr Noki from VideoPortraits on Vimeo.

Inspired by the ‘It all starts with an ABSOLUT Blank’ campaign, Farahmand has created an art
installation where respondents choose their favourite music track and then move to create unique digital
trails in real-time, as if their bodies are brushes and their background is a blank canvas that becomes filled with their creativity. Using breakthrough technology by The Mill, ABSOLUT are pushing the boundaries
of consumer experience. 3D motion tracking technology recognises their body movements by reading
depth, velocity and colour as well as their silhouette via an infrared camera to create a unique ABSOLUT
BLANK portrait complete with its own generated soundtrack.

The project is a natural evolution of Farahmand’s own style of portrait photography, which began as a
studio experiment in 2009 and allows consumers to explore their own journey from a Blank canvas to
creating a unique piece of artwork. He begun the project with a private shooting party and already the role call of people involved include people like: Duggie Fields, Fred Butler, Hannah Marshall, Cassette Playa, Romy XX, Giggs, Cara Delevingne, Jaime Winstone, Bip Ling, Noki, Pippa Brooks, Marc Hare, Aaron Frew, and Sharmadean Reid.
