Have a twisted Christmas at the Evil Xmas Fayre, which turns the traditional festive fair on its head in an exhibition of street art and graffiti culture.

Street art fair
If you’re left cold by the cosy homeliness of traditional Christmas markets and want a fresh, urban take on the festive season, then look no further than the Evil Xmas Fayre. Taking place at The East Room and adjacent Sosho, this is one Christmas fair that fans of street art and alternative culture will not want to miss.

Art car boot fair
Featuring up and coming artists as well as established names on the street art scene, visitors to the Evil Xmas Fayre can pick up work by Beatrice Brown, Deadbeat Donny, Ged Wells, Hornhead, Ortiz and Pure Evil. The art car boot fair at the market is also selling all manner of art works, and with prices ranging from £3.00 to £3000.00, there’s bound to be something that suits both your tastes and your budget.

Christmas installations
The result of a collaboration between Arts Co and Pure Evil, the Evil Xmas Fayre is part of a larger season of street art installations and events at The East Room and Sosho. At Sosho, Luc Price aka Cyclops has created the Xmas Squat installation which presents a credit crunch version of festive cheer, while at The East Room visitors can make their own snowglobe or pick up a 3D jigsaw cut Christmas tree.

Christmas barbecue
If you need to refuel after roaming around the galleries and buying armfuls of art, then there’s a Christmas barbecue at The East Room to keep you happy, along with an afternoon tea menu featuring refreshments from ATTIC Tea and cupcakes from Cherry on Top. There’s also the rooftop pop up Alpine Lodge where you can sample toffee vodka and cheese fondue.

The Evil Xmas Fayre runs from 12pm – 5pm, Saturday 5th December – Sunday 6th December 2009. Admission is £1.00, with proceeds going towards the StreetSmart homeless charity. Nearest tube: Old Street.
