John Jones, the renowned London arts establishment, are delighted to announce the launch of the first of their public art projects, an Urban Art Wall sponsored by Montana Colours. Working with arts collective ‘End of the Line’, the 120 metre wall, located on the John Jones premises, involves six urban artists who will develop artwork in direct response to the creative productivity that takes place at John Jones. The wall will benefit John Jones’ clients and staff, as well as the local community who are invited to visit and give their feedback.

Curator Roland Henry from End of the Line commented ‘We have six talented urban artists, Probs, Zadok, Rabodiga, Tizer, Hicks and Omus, who have been hand picked for their unique skills, broad range of styles and different flavours they will bring to the table.’

‘The wall is a great way to introduce the contemporary collectors that we work with everyday to urban art. We’re very excited about the final result.’ says John Jones Managing Director Matt Jones. ‘We hope that the wall will encourage the local community to really embrace and engage with the skills and talent involved in this type of art in a creative environment‘.

To celebrate the wall, John Jones are hosting a Spring Art Party on Friday 27th March at their 35,000 square foot warehouse premises in Finsbury Park. This event will also mark the completion of their first artist in residency project with Acme Studios sound artist Jan Hendrickse. Jan has spent the last few weeks on site at John Jones, recording and analyzing the sounds of production around the workshops and creating bespoke instruments in response. A performance will take place on 27th March involving the instruments that Jan has developed, which will played by craftspeople from the John Jones team.

Various other arts projects will take place on 27th March, including an exhibition of vintage furniture by Danish designer Jens Risom, work by a selection of contemporary artists and photographers plus a neon light installation by creative company Neon and Sign Makers. There will also be live music on the night. A series of workshops and discussions will take place throughout March and April, including a children’s art workshop.
