As godfathers of techno, Orbital (aka Phil and Paul Hartnoll) were, for almost two decades, the most creative and influential electronica act on the planet. Now in a brave new cross-cultural venture, exclusive to Brighton Festival, Phil Hartnoll and Nick Smith (an artist whose recording career for dance labels Dragonfly and Atomic Records has led to major film credits for Ridley Scott) combine forces as \’Longrange\’.

Together they limber up with cult novelists Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club) and Irvine Welsh
(Trainspotting) to create stories in motion. Home Spun Subversives C6.org provide the visuals – warping texts to imagery in a live processed ascii jam. Transplanting the creative impetus from the desktop to the live arena, writers, DJs and VJs jam back and forth with ideas and storylines to build a unique multilayered narrative in words, music and images.
