Founded in 1994, the Zabludowicz Collection has rapidly become one of the world’s leading independent contemporary art collections. This major new exhibition features significant and rarely seen works by over 30 leading international artists, giving a unique insight into a collection that continues to grow and evolve.

Significant and rarely seen works by over 30 leading artists will be displayed throughout the galleries. The roots of the Collection in 1990s London will be the focus of one section, featuring the artists who transformed the landscape of contemporary art in the city and the UK, such as Damien Hirst, Rachel Whiteread and Martin Creed. Pioneering international artists who have influenced the forms and processes of contemporary art will also feature, such Sigmar Polke, Isa Genzken and Christopher Wool.

Highlighting the Zabludowicz Collection’s ongoing commitment to supporting artists early in their careers, immersive mixed-media installations by American artist Samara Golden (see above), and a collaboration between UK artists Laura Buckley, Haroon Mirza and Dave Maclean will be reimagined. There will also be dramatic interventions that transform the chapel architecture, such as Jim Lambie’s brightly-coloured floor work Zobop (Fluorescent), 2006.

The exhibition will be accompanied by an events programme which includes a symposium in May in partnership with University College London Art Museum. Both institutions have art collections that spotlight emerging art practice; taking this shared interest as a starting point, leading academics, curators, collectors and artists will examine issues around collecting new and experimental art.

The Bloomsbury Distillery has been commissioned to produce a unique spirit to be served at the preview (Thursday 30th April) . A signature drink encapsulating the exhibition’s energy, it will also be available as a limited artist’s edition in bespoke bottles.
