Gallery directors Joe Kennedy and Jonny Burt say:

“With an artist like Ryan Hewett, you know the demand is going to be there, but we have been blown away by the amount of enquiries received in the last couple of weeks. It’s great for South Africa to have such an exciting talent coming through, and Ryan’s undeniable talent is a breath of fresh air for painting. He is helping to reinvigorate the medium of oil paint for contemporary art collectors.”

About The Artist
Eschewing the art world for many years, self-taught painter Ryan Hewett’s debut solo exhibition at Barnard Gallery in his home country of South Africa in April 2013 sold out within days of it opening to the public and the demand for his portraits continues to grow. Hewett subsequently held successful solo shows in New York and California and participated in group exhibitions in Berlin and San Fransisco. His paintings have been presented at various art fairs including Joburg Art Fair; Cape Town Art Fair; Fountain Art Fair, Chicago and SCOPE Miami.
