NEW Muller Van Severen Exhibition at Viaduct

 Muller Van Severen Table, Chairs
Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen are launching their latest collection of furniture and lighting at Viaduct from 11 – 28 March 2015. Muller Van Severen, as they are known, both trained as artists and have collaborated as designers of functional furniture since working on a commission for the Valerie Traan Gallery in Antwerp in 2011.  This is their second solo show at Viaduct. This first collection made an immediate impact on the design world with its impossibly restrained typology. Their style has a distinct geometry that blends curves and angularity with an original use of materials and colour to make compelling combinations.

In their latest collection Fien and Hannes continue to explore the purpose of furniture and lighting:  paper chain-like tubular neon lights, dining chairs, rocking chairs, tables and desks in solid colours that ooze a sort of fruitiness, on frames of lacquered, rusted steel or brass with alternate tops of marble or terrazzo.  Dining tables, side tables and coffee tables, with or without integrated lights; storage systems with layered, right-angled shelves are all part of the collection.
