28th January – 12th April 2015

White Cube presents a major solo exhibition by artist Christian Marclay, in collaboration with London Sinfonietta and The Vinyl Factory. As well as new paintings and video work, the exhibition will feature performances programmed with Marclay and the London Sinfonietta, in collaboration with some of the world’s most acclaimed contemporary composers. Events including live improvisation sessions and performances of newly commissioned compositions will take place every weekend. The Vinyl Factory will take up residence in the gallery to press vinyl records of the recordings made during the previous weekend’s performances.

The world’s first mobile vinyl manufacturing press will be housed in a shipping container in the gallery, featuring a vintage hand press that is manually operated, plus all the elements required to power the press and make a record. Visitors will be able to see the incredible process up close and buy a record ‘hot’ off the press. Each performance will be pressed as an edition of 500 records, and fine-art printmakers Coriander Studio will create unique silk-screen record sleeves to encase them.
These will be priced at a very modest £25.

You can find out more details of the exhibition as they are announced by emailing marclay2015@whitecube.com
