Chemical X has been a part of youth and lifestyle culture for more than twenty five years and is best known for his design of the globally renowned logo for Ministry of Sound.
Chemical X has worked on art projects with Banksy, Damien Hirst and Jamie Hewlett but this will be the first public display of his controversial works.

In May 2013, Chemical X’s London show was cancelled last minute due to the gallery’s legal concerns of having twelve thousand ecstasy pills on their property.
For Bear Cub Gallery, Chemical X has produced two new works each original piece contains 10,000 multicoloured pills set into two laser cut acrylic panels.

?Embracing his stylistic approach, we thought it would be interesting to see the Love Dove of urban sub culture give shape to the iconic Dove of the Noah’s Ark story. Would the medium change peoples emotional response to the work?
The Polynesian Ground Dove is a Red Listed animal, categorised as Critically Endangered.
With the use of Imagery referencing Drug culture Chemical X examines our societal and personal relationship with MDMA, what he calls a “re-examination of an old friend or perhaps a feared enemy”

Bear Cub Gallery are a London based ‘Pop Up’ re-examining the role of the ‘gallery’ in exhibitions of Contemporary Art. Our aim is to provide you with a more immersive experience, by transforming the gallery space into a context specific installation we allow a physical exploration of our idea and the purpose made pieces which bring it to life. theark.co
