Tabish Khan brings you five art exhibitions in London that you should visit during the week. Each one comes with a concise review to help you decide whether it’s for you. The Top 5 is now back after a short summer break.

arebyte

1. Next Brave New World @ Arebyte
Artists speculate on the future of humanity with tongue firmly in cheek in this excellent group show by recent graduate. Highlights include genetically engineered animals for our pleasure and renaming towns to make their inhabitants happier.

autumn

2. Tales from the Autumn House @ The Belfry, St. John on Bethnal Green
An atmospheric and immersive experience of Autumn, which uses sound, lighting and photography to create a surreal environment dominated by keys.

secret

3. Secret Art Prize @ Curious Duke
A new art prize and great variety and talent in the winners and exhibitors. I was a judge in the prize, so it’s not a recommendation without a dose of bias.

chelsea

4. MA Show @ UAL Chelsea
An experimental graduate show filled with some great ideas, though many works would have benefited from greater context.

carnival

5. Carnival of Colour @ Imitate Modern
An unashamedly collection of over the top bold art juxtaposed with the delicate and ephemeral works by Rosie Emerson.
