TAG Fine Arts, in association with Sims Reed Gallery, are to present ‘Rob Ryan: There is only Time,’ a solo exhibition showcasing an entirely new body of paper and print works by the celebrated British artist. Rob Ryan, already a national treasure in the UK, has created some of his largest and most accomplished work to date for this exhibition, which will build on the success of major solo shows in London (‘The Stars Shine All Day Too’, 2010) and New York City (‘Our Adventure Is About To Begin’, 2012).

About The Artist
Rob Ryan studied printmaking at the Royal College of Art in London, but is perhaps best known for his delicate cut paper artworks, which incorporate the artist’s own poetic texts into superbly detailed silhouetted designs. His work has been featured in major exhibitions including ‘The First Cut’ at the Manchester City Art Galleries (2012) and ‘Slash! Paper Under The Knife’ at the Museum of Arts and Design (NYC) in 2009. He has collaborated with famous institutions and individuals including the Victoria & Albert Museum, Fortnum & Mason, UK Vogue, Paul Smith and Tatty Devine. Collectors of his work include Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton, who have said of the artist:

‘Never has a pair of scissors been so masterful. Rob Ryan cuts out dreams and stories and worlds that enchant us and remind us of the first movie makers.’

The exhibition coincides with the official launch of Rob Ryan’s new book, ‘The Invisible Kingdom’, which will form the first in a new trilogy. The artist has written and illustrated two previous publications – ‘This is for You’ and ‘A Sky Full of Kindness’ – as well as collaborating with Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy on the illustration of her first children’s book ‘The Gift’. To celebrate the launch, Sims Reed Gallery will host a book signing on Saturday 26th October 2013 (1 – 2pm) during which the artist will be available to meet the public.
