To Continue our support for emerging artists and our partnership with The Other Art Fair we are interviewing some of the artists showing at the Spring 2013 edition of The Other Art Fair:
Urbantag

1.Is this your first TOAF ? if so why are you exhibiting? If not why are you coming back?
2. Can you tell us more about your work and what are the main ideas you like to express?

Yes this is my first TOAF. I choose to show in TOAF to start with the British public, and also to show my work to the art sphere of London. TOAF is a great event to start communicating with this public.

3. How do you start the process of making work?
The Rock ‘n Flags is pure serendipity ! I found that video projected on bodies was a nice aesthetic idea. Digging into it I discovered it was a beautiful way to express myself, my state of mind, revolts, beliefs, commitments, fights, passions, hatreds…the idea is also to make of the human body, especially that of women, my speaker, all in a graphic spirit and musicality. The purity of the body opposes itself to the distortions and ideas expressed.

4. Do you consider the viewer, when making your work?
I do. I do because I communicate with the viewer through my art work. the R’nF is my media to communicate with her.

5. What work will you be showing at TOAF ?
I would like to show a selection of my serie R’nF on which I work since one year: it has become my photographic obsession…

6. What was the most intelligent thing that someone said or wrote about your work?
The most intelligent thing that someone said about my work was that he was both seduced and unsettled by my images: this is what I seek to do, so I found him totally pertinent and tuned on.

7. Which artists would you most like to rip off, sorry, I mean appropriate as a critique of originality and authorship?
I have no idea, perhaps I do unconsciously…

8. What does you art cost ?
£300 to infinity…

9. Which art work are you most proud to have created ?
My current series Rock ‘n flags

10. Final question if you had $75,000 to buy some art with , what would you buy ?
Picasso, Giacometto, an original of Jimi Hendrix and of Mozart, but I guess $75,000 would not be enough; i’ll need supplementary credit I think…
